I know that I really don't have much to offer all of you right at this point in the game, however, I hope that I can help get the ball rolling!! Here is what I have done in my past month and a half with Silpada:
I researched Silpada as a company and then looked at what everyone else had to say about Silpada. Everyone else includes women within Silpada, but also women not within Silpada. I then thought about what I wanted out of it. I currently have a full time job that I absolutely love, but I am with someone in the ARMY as I told you all in the previous post. I want to have a career that for one I absolutely love, two I want to be able to spend as much time with Josh, my partner as I can, and thirdly having a partner in the military I need to be able to have a career I can move around with. I am at that stage in my life where I want to have longevity with my job, but more importantly Silpada will give me not just a job, it will give me a career. It is a career that is not only fun, but also is a great way to meet new people and get yourself out there. Let's face it ladies, we all want to make our own mark and there is no other way better than with Silpada!!!
After all my research was complete about the company I decided if I was going to be serious with this I needed to take things above and beyond (you may be different and thats fine, but this is what worked for me) and I created my own business plan. Silpada offers you all of this, so you DO NOT have to do this, I just found it very helpful. After I set my business plan in conjunction with Silpada I began to research ways to market myself. I found it very useful to talk with Debbie my Leader! She suggested looking into craft fairs, flea markets, community events, etc. Ladies anything like this is really great, even if you don't make a sale, you are promoting yourself and your business and trust me people take notice!!!! One thing I have learned is don't assume anything, you never know!!!
I also looked into taxes and read any information I could get my hands on, because as you know you can write-off certain things within your business. Don't start this business without understanding everything fully, especially when it comes to taxes. I recommend having an appointment with an accountant and/or getting one for your business. I used H and R Block because I like working with them. Choose someone you are most comfortable with or don't have one, its your business!!!
With all of this under me I then was able to start in on the fun stuff like writing down the names of everyone I knew and then putting their corresponding information such as: address, email, phone number, and their birthday! These are all very important things to have. From here it really has been so awesome and wonderful because I am just offering everyone I know and even those I don't free jewelry for a couple of hours of their time by hosting a party. You too can do this!! Don't limit yourself and don't limit your hostess's or potential hostess's! After all, the more successful you are and show others how easy it is, they too will be successful and in-turn make you even more successful!!!
Im sure that I have given you all a lot to think about right now and I really hope that you all enjoy reading my story and ways to make it in this business. Look at me, I am a work in progress and I am going to show you all that you too can be just as successful!!!
Have a great evening and/or day Ladies!!!
Until tomorrow have a very STERLING DAY!
