Last Day Unofficial!!!

Today was my last official day as an unregistered Silpada Representative!  I have basically spent the last month and a half planning for my debut and I cannot believe it is finally here!  Even with all of the preparation done, I still feel like there is more to be done.  However, the truth of the matter is, as long as you are consistent with your drive and stay focused on the tasks at hand, you will be just fine.  I have 4 definite parties lined up and only more to come!!!  The hardest part of my planning is getting my hostess's to arrange time in their schedules.  Debbie Leightner, my Leader and Mentor, has been such a big help and I only hope to be as GREAT as she!!!!  I encourage all of you to use the resources you have and never stop working towards filling up your schedule.  You honestly don't have to do any of the sales pitching when it comes to the jewelry!! Trust me, it sells itself!!!

I know that I really don't have much to offer all of you right at this point in the game, however, I hope that I can help get the ball rolling!! Here is what I have done in my past month and a half with Silpada:

I researched Silpada as a company and then looked at what everyone else had to say about Silpada.  Everyone else includes women within Silpada, but also women not within Silpada.  I then thought about what I wanted out of it.  I currently have a full time job that I absolutely love, but I am with someone in the ARMY as I told you all in the previous post.  I want to have a career that for one I absolutely love, two I want to be able to spend as much time with Josh, my partner as I can, and thirdly having a partner in the military I need to be able to have a career I can move around with.  I am at that stage in my life where I want to have longevity with my job, but more importantly Silpada will give me not just a job, it will give me a career.  It is a career that is not only fun, but also is a great way to meet new people and get yourself out there.  Let's face it ladies, we all want to make our own mark and there is no other way better than with Silpada!!!

After all my research was complete about the company I decided if I was going to be serious with this I needed to take things above and beyond (you may be different and thats fine, but this is what worked for me) and I created my own business plan.  Silpada offers you all of this, so you DO NOT have to do this, I just found it very helpful.  After I set my business plan in conjunction with Silpada I began to research ways to market myself.  I found it very useful to talk with Debbie my Leader!  She suggested looking into craft fairs, flea markets, community events, etc.  Ladies anything like this is really great, even if you don't make a sale, you are promoting yourself and your business and trust me people take notice!!!!  One thing I have learned is don't assume anything, you never know!!!

I also looked into taxes and read any information I could get my hands on, because as you know you can write-off certain things within your business.  Don't start this business without understanding everything fully, especially when it comes to taxes.  I recommend having an appointment with an accountant and/or getting one for your business.  I used H and R Block because I like working with them.  Choose someone you are most comfortable with or don't have one, its your business!!!

With all of this under me I then was able to start in on the fun stuff like writing down the names of everyone I knew and then putting their corresponding information such as: address, email, phone number, and their birthday!  These are all very important things to have.  From here it really has been so awesome and wonderful because I am just offering everyone I know and even those I don't free jewelry  for a couple of hours of their time by hosting a party.  You too can do this!! Don't limit yourself and don't limit your hostess's or potential hostess's!  After all, the more successful you are and show others how easy it is, they too will be successful and in-turn make you even more successful!!!

Im sure that I have given you all a lot to think about right now and I really hope that you all enjoy reading my story and ways to make it in this business.  Look at me, I am a work in progress and I am going to show you all that you too can be just as successful!!!

Have a great evening and/or day Ladies!!!

Until tomorrow have a very STERLING DAY!

Here's to the Beginning of an End

Thank you so much for checking out my blog! My Journey to getting here has been one-in-a-million.  I would like to take a few moments to introduce myself.

I'm Heather Clayton, I currently live in Northfield, Vermont while I wait for my partner (whose in the Army) finish up his last semester at Norwich University.  Life is always changing for us, but who doesn't like a challenge?  We met November 10, 2010 at Norwich in Anatomy and Physiology class.  I was originally born and raised in Bennington, Vermont, but moved to Cambridge, NY in 2001.  After graduating from Cambridge Central in 2007, I then made my way from college to college.  After finding it very difficult to pay my way through school I decided it was time to take a break about a year and a half ago.  In that time frame I moved to Carlisle, Pennsylvania to live with my partner Josh's parents while he was fulfilling his own obligations.  However,  7 months later I returned to Northfield, Vermont to be closer to Josh and take advantage of the time we still have before we engage in the ever-changing and exciting life of "Army".  Josh and I have a very beautiful 6 month-old black lab named Isis.  She is very much apart of our lives and we do not go anywhere without her.  She is the love of my life and there isn't anything in this world that could ever change that!

I now find myself starting my own business with Silpada Designs.  I have put a lot of thought into this decision and so far it has been the best thing I could have ever done for myself.  I want others to see that they too can do something as spontaneous as join a business like Silpada and be successful.  I myself am about to fax my paperwork in this upcoming Friday.  I am going to post everyday how I am doing with my business and what I do on a daily basis.  Its not exactly work-free, but it certainly is a lot more enjoyable and fun than your average 9-5 job!!!

I encourage my readers to comment and get in touch with me anytime for questions, comments, concerns, and feedback!!!

Along the way... If you are interested in hosting a party please get in touch with me ASAP.  If you are interested in joining my team I would love to help you get what you want out of your own business with Silpada!!!

I look forward to my journey ahead and hope to engage women and men with my success and happiness!

I absolutely love every part of my life and am very thankful to be here.  I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!
